Ars Nova premieres "Synapse," with local poet and visual artist

Synapse Tapestry — John Bonath

Synapse Tapestry — John Bonath

On April 26 & 27, Ars Nova premieres my new piece for choir, “Synapse,” featuring the poetry of Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer and inspired by visual artist, John Bonath. Ars Nova says —

Our multi-year project Shared Visions is an interdisciplinary collaboration of Colorado artists: in 2018, we assembled a gallery of 24 works by eight visual artists; 8 poets from across the state viewed the gallery and used the images as a basis for writing new poetry. The 47 new poems were then assembled into an anthology, and Ars Nova Singers commissioned four Colorado composers (Paul Fowler, Leanna Kirchoff, Jeffrey Nytch, and Thomas Edward Morgan) to use this anthology to create new music for chorus.
